Our Fine Art

Galerie Michael has over 40 years of dealer experience helping clients build museum-quality collections, one work at a time. We are dedicated to collector ethics and the curation and distribution of rare fine art masterworks. With over 18 exhibitions per year, we provide a unique look into the collections of the greatest art masters in the history of the world. Our team specializes in paintings, drawings, and prints from the 17th to the 20th century and we have become experts in the matter, starting with the knowledge of our founder, Michael Schwartz. As a fine art dealer, we are committed to educating our clients and the public on the significance of specific artists and their masterworks, affording clients the ability to become experts themselves. Our goal is to help you develop a knowledge of significant art and give you access to owning pieces from some of the most world-renowned artists in the history of our planet.

Our Artists

Our fine art gallery specializes in the masterworks of some of the most renowned artists in the history of fine art. These works are traditionally in the top 25% of the artist’s oeuvre, which refers to their lifetime of works. Because these pieces are so carefully curated, we give a unique look into rare and historically important pieces that most galleries wouldn’t have access to. Our most popular pieces and exhibitions are typically from the following masters.

The Fine Art Curatorial Process

Curating the types of masterworks we have access to comes with a wide network of established relationships with master dealers, auction houses, and even the families of some of the most famous artists. We have built relationships with the families of Picasso and Mourlot, as well as the Picasso expert, Brigitte Baer, to name a few. Our relationships and the notification system we have in place when a new masterwork is available allows us to be alerted to rare and highly sought-after pieces. Our team will either get an inbound lead or send an outbound request to acquire a piece. Once we purchase the piece, we will perform 2-3 weeks of in-depth research via museums and catalogues. Our Director of Acquisition will gather anything that a potential buyer may need or want to be educated on when interested in this piece. We’re dedicated not just to providing expert information, but to helping you become an expert yourself.

Our Exhibitions

After surveying the options we have for purchasing, we will typically start to gather a full collection that goes along with a common theme. Michael Schwartz, our founder, personally chooses the collection for our art exhibitions and chooses gold leaf frames for each piece. By the time a piece is on display in our gallery, we know every detail about the piece and prepare to educate the public on its historical significance, potential appreciation, and collector history.

Restoring Fine Art

Galerie Michael works with expert fine art restoration teams to ensure you’re getting the original quality of a piece prior to purchasing. We use ultraviolet light as well as magnifying tools to examine the piece even after it has gone through its restoration processes. We’ve gone over every inch of the work prior to displaying it in our fine art gallery.

Our Client Process

You may become interested in a painting while viewing our exhibitions, or you may find a masterwork that would be perfect for your personal collection in one of our exhibitions. Once you’ve found a piece that interests you, we’ll gather our educational material for your presentation. A personal art consultant will walk you through the catalogue text so you know everything that sets this piece apart from others in the gallery, in the fine art exhibition that surrounds it, and in the artist’s whole body of work. We can hang the piece up in a private staging room so that you know what it will look like within your home and how it will add aesthetically to the rest of your collection. If you can’t make it into the gallery or if you’re interested in this piece remotely, we can perform this showcase digitally. Our ultimate goal is to maximize the client experience to suit your needs.

Our Team

Our team consists of fine art scholars and connoisseurs from all over the world. With a wide range of college degrees and experience working directly with artists, publishers, museums, and other galleries, we’ve recruited a team that affords us the opportunity to give clients exactly what they want from a high end museum-quality experience. While looking for your next great fine art piece, you can rely on our consultants to educate you on everything you need to know about a specific artist or work.

Our Fine Art Gallery

We have over 40 years of dealer experience within our gallery walls. Some of our clients have been coming to us for over 30 years due to the level of client service we provide and unique access to masterworks that we can deliver. If you’re interested in viewing one of our works or attending an exhibition, join us in our gallery on the famed Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. We are located on the corner of Wilshire Blvd. and N. Rodeo Drive, in the same area as high end shopping and eateries to the tune of Versace, Lanvin, Jimmy Choo and TAG Heuer. Enjoy an afternoon of walking around Rodeo Drive and stop in to view our fine art gallery and special exhibitions.
